Working with companies outside of the UK
Spill currently works with over 150 companies with employees based outside of the UK with 20% of those headquartered outside of the UK. We work with companies ranging from marketing agencies in Australia to law firms in the US to tech companies in Europe.
In order to support to employees internationally, we have ensured that our practitioner insurance, data protection and communication to employees are all adequate and regularly reviewed. As a quick summary:
- Practitioner insurance: We have guaranteed that all practitioners hold international insurance allowing them to provide sessions to users internationally.
- Data protection: We have updated all of our platform terms to meet GDPR standards and US data protection standards including HIPAA compliance.
- Employee communication: We have clarified throughout the platform that Spill offers support sessions and does not provide appointments with qualified medical professionals.

Spill’s practitioners
Our practitioners are counsellors who are fully qualified and accredited in the UK who have:
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
- Professional registration with BACP, UKCP, or equivalent regulatory bodies
- Undergone rigorous vetting and interview processes
- Regular clinical supervision to maintain high standards of care
All Spill practitioners are trained in:
- Short-term therapy approaches
- Online counselling methodologies
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Various therapeutic modalities including CBT, person-centered therapy, and psychodynamic approaches
Our practitioners represent diverse backgrounds, experiences and specializations to meet varied client needs effectively.
