Role Description
The clinical quality of counselling and therapy received by Spill clients is at the heart of everything we do. To achieve this we need high quality support, guidance, and clinical supervision for our growing team of exceptional counsellors, and to ensure that all safeguarding cases which arise are responded to effectively for the safety of the clients we work with.
You will be joining a small, robust, ethically and clinically led Clinical Team overseeing the clinical governance, clinical quality and safeguarding of counselling and therapy work delivered at Spill. We currently have over 80 counsellors and are rapidly growing, so this role forms an essential part of the clinical oversight at Spill. You will be working alongside our Clinical Lead, another Safeguarding Lead and Clinical Supervisor, and additional Clinical Supervisors.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role is responsible for:
- Delivering clinical supervision of Spill therapists, which is needs led and responds to developmental and/or support needs of the counsellors and therapists
- Delivering Safeguarding supervision to Spill therapists when they have raised a safeguarding concern
- Updating and maintaining the organisational safeguarding log
- Ensuring appropriate escalation, management and actions in response to safeguarding
- Participating in weekly clinical meetings focused on safeguarding, clinical governance, and product updates
- Developing and delivering annual safeguarding training to Spill therapists
- Ensuring effective communication to Spill HQ of counsellor needs, views or challenges
- Attending weekly supervision with the Clinical Lead
- Attending monthly reflective meetings with all supervisors at Spill
- Participating in clinical governance tasks undertaken by the clinical team, such as safeguarding case reviews for continuous improvement, screening of risk in intake forms where needed) and management of complaints
Essential Criteria
- Membership of a professional body, such as HCPC, BACP, UKCP, NCPS meeting full criteria for accreditation (where applicable)
- A supervision qualification
